If you have any enhancements you'd like to see to ListGenBot, please add a section to the talk page.
Enhancements being considered include:
- Bulleted and non-bulleted lists
- Make sorting case-insensitive
- When specifying a source tag, an option to give an alternative section name to be used in sectioned lists
Remove duplicatesDoneOne declaration that puts an entry into two or more listsDone
There are a few known limitations (bugs?) that I'll deal with when I get around to it...
- The bot doesn't update as fast as I'd hoped, because it's processing a vast number of pages - could take 10-15 mins to update a list
- I suspect some cacheing causes the bot to not notice some updates, then it will spot them a while later - that may mean it would take an hour or so for an update to a list to get through
- Currently if there are multiple entries in a list that are identical, they're merged and the page name in brackets after the list entry become comma separated. For an annoying technical reason, that doesn't work if the page name has (brackets) in. I need to rewrite the approriate bit of code
