Shakti Butler is a social justice educator, film maker and founder and Executive Director of World Trust Educational Services, Inc. Butler is best known for facilitating equity seminars and for her documentary films. Her first film, The Way Home (1998) filmed the conversations of eight ethnic councils of women as they shared stories of racial and gender oppression. Mirrors of Privilege: Making Whiteness Visible (2006) features the stories of white anti-racism activists.
