In 2020, Russia is celebrating very important date in its history. It is the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The first Victory Parade on red square took place on June 24, 1945, but nowadays the Victory parade is hold on May 9. On this meaningful holiday, it is a tradition to give veterans red carnations. These red flowers symbolize the spilled blood of the dead, and at the same time the courage and bravery of the people. The main and largest parades hold in Moscow on red square. The event includes a demonstration of Russia's military power, a parade of students of military universities, a theatrical performances, songs and congratulations. Concerts and films about war broadcast on television every year on this day. Walking part of the parade includes parade crews in historical uniforms, different companies with banners of famous formations and military units of the period 1941-1945, pilots, sailors, engineers, scouts and border guards. The column includes 216 units of modern and advanced military equipment, including historical ones, more than 20 samples of which will take part in the military parade for the first time. Today military parades involving personnel, military equipment and aircraft will be held in 28 cities, including 9 city-heroes: Volgograd, Kerch, Moscow, Murmansk, Novorossiysk, Saint Petersburg, Sevastopol, Smolensk, Tula, as well as in cities where the headquarters of military districts, fleets, formations are located: Belogorsk, Vladivostok, Vladikavkaz, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Kaspiysk, Novosibirsk, Novocherkassk, Rostov on-Don, Samara, Severomorsk, Simferopol, Stavropol, Ulan-Ude, Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk, Chita, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. In total, more than 60 thousand people, about 2,400 weapons, military equipment, aircraft and helicopters, and 13 surface ships, submarines and support vessels will be involved in the military parades. This celebration unite people from all over the country and reminds them of the great feat of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives for our future.
