History of Building
[edit]'There were two different capitol locations before the final and current location[1]. The current capitol building resides in the city of Atlanta[2]. Construction of the Atlanta capitol started on November 13, 1884[3]. The building took four and a half years and 250 men to complete[4]. The statue of Miss Freedom was installed in 1888[5]. Completion, and opening of the building, took place on March 20, 1889[6].'
Origin of Statue
[edit]'There are no written records of where the statue came from[7]. The original name of the statue is also unknown[8]. The current name, Miss Freedom, came from recent decades[9]. Previous names found were "Liberty" and "Goddess of Liberty"[10].'
