Welcome to Leonard^Bloom's talk page

Thanks for the Message

[edit]

Hey thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. Anyway, I already have an account on Wikipedia (by the name of Semistablesystem), but I don't log on all the time because I can edit articles without it.

Thanks again for the comment.24.7.70.7 (talk) 03:12, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Info on Genaust

[edit]

William Homer Genaust

[edit]

Leonard, thanks for the help -- I knew the dashes weren't working; had forgotten you should use the = sign to format the headers.

Yes, I own the "Shadow" book and in fact wrote the Wiki article about it as well. Info on Genaust is on the following pages:

Name, role, going up Suribachi with Rosenthal and Private Bob Campbell (a Marine Corps still photographer): Pages 48, 58

Taking of his motion picture footage, Rosenthal's picture, etc. -- pages 61-65

Death of Genaust -- page 70

James Bradley's book has further info on Genaust as well.

Thanks again for your help in formatting. Sir Rhosis (talk) 01:52, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

Jon Owens

[edit]

Hello, thanks for the note on the CSD nom for Jon Owens. It's always useful to check the history and links to an article before considering a CSD and since there was a useful disambiguation before the IP's good-faith attempt at creating an article I've declined it, fixed the disambiguation page, and instructed the IP to attempt building an article at a suitable page. Hello,

I hope you're having a good day =)

Talking Metal

[edit]

I am trying to understand why you deleted "Talking Metal on FUSE." This is a television show that aired on the FUSE network, which is in 65 million home in the United States. Please explain.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Optodisc logo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Optodisc logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:14, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Rumble Roses Mud Wrestling Image added

[edit]

Hi, I found your listing at Wikipedia:Highly_Active_Users and I want to request your comment at the possible deletion of this image. --Roaring Siren (talk) 16:46, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Cement-Cement album cover.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 13:58, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Removal from PR Volunteer List

[edit]

Due to your notice that you are on an extended wikibreak of unknown length, you have been removed from the list of available editors at Wikipedia:Peer review/volunteers. This is done to ensure those seeking volunteers are only directed to active editors who can respond relatively quickly to requests. If you decide to return to editing Wikipedia, feel free to readd your name to this list. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 02:56, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Ah, I wasn't angry, and you are welcome for the quote, I will not change your page again.

That, after reading the terms it was deleted under, was a violation of Wikipedia postage rights,

thanks,

[edit]

I declined your speedy delete nomination because of the claim to be in charge of one of the biggest companies in Canada (that does not seem to have a WP entry). You are welcome to nominate if AfD if the claims are incorrect. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:17, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Betüllo Records

[edit]

You recently nominated Betüllo Records for deletion under A1, but that is only reserved for articles with no context, which the article has, even if it is in German. In the future, try using Notenglish template ({{Notenglish}}), and listing it on Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English#Pages for consideration, following the directions on the template. In any case, a quick Google translation [1] shows that it would fall under A7 of the speedy deletion criteria. --Patar knight - chat/contributions 15:08, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Sorry 'bout that. I could of sworn there was a CSD criteria for just foreign language stuff. Ugh, I need to review this sort of thing a bit more. Been too long. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 15:37, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
No problem. Everyone makes mistakes. There is a CSD criterai for foreeign langauge stuff, CSD#A2, but according to the CSD page, it is for: "Foreign language articles that exist on another Wikimedia project. If the article does not exist on another project, use the template {{notenglish}} instead, and list the page at Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English for review and possible translation." --Patar knight - chat/contributions 20:34, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I have "de-speedied" this article as I think that any recognized saint of the Catholic Church (or any of the world's other major faiths) must be considered inherently notable. If you disagree, please feel free to take the article to AfD. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:03, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't disagree. I should of thought it through a bit more. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks, and happy editing. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 23:11, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Awwwww, thanks!!!

Thomas Prosen

[edit]

I've removed your db-vandalism tag from Thomas Prosen and replaced it with db-bio; there is no evidence that it was a piece of vandalism. Please read WP:CSD. Ironholds (talk) 14:07, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Scott Roeder

[edit]

The 'speedy' deletion seems at best, arbitrary. This is someone who has come to notoriety only today. Why delete the page when everyone in the nation is looking for information about him? I don't know who created the page or who recommended speedy deletion, but I do know that there are many on both sides of the abortion debate that would have done both. It would seem that this individual is indeed notable. Every broadcast and network news program led with the story tonight. There will be considerable discussion of the case for the foreseeable future. Even the president has commented on the story. I can not see a legitimate reason to delete this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.234.218.143 (talk) 01:20, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

You bring up a good point. The nation is interested in this case. Anti-abortion violence is a big deal. But a man suspected of being involved is not notable, per the standards of WP:BIO, the relevant sub-section of the notability guidelines. I will admit error on my part: a page about Scott Roeder is a good idea, but not as an article (at this point, at least) but as a redirect, which it is now. It received a preemptive CSD tag. On the other hand, removing a CSD tag without an adequate explanation wasn't too helpful, at least for me. Well, it's of no consequence now. The CSD was removed, the article is now a redirect. No harm, no foul. Happy editing! Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 01:35, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Agreed, it should be more than an arrest as a suspect for a murder of another notorious figure to warrant a page, but this is going to be so much bigger news in the coming days, it seems that it is just a matter of hours before all kinds of information becomes available and someone will update this page. Deleting the page seems, at best, premature. The redirect doesn't seem to give the subject the proper weight. If it turns out that either he didn't do it, or it was just a random act of violence, then the page should rightly slip into obscurity. It doesn't, however, appear that that will be the case. Anyway, I have no desire to get in an edit war with you. I do believe that you are wrong in this case, but will leave you the final say. 70.234.218.143 (talk) 02:13, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

No need to prod it author blanked good enough for a speedy. OtisJimmyOne 16:27, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Film talk page edits

[edit]

I am deleting project banner tags on talk pages for redirected articles. As per my bot request for a listing at [2]. I'm also a coordinator for WikiProject Film. Please assume some good faith first. Thanks, Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 19:14, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Banlieue 13

[edit]

Why are you warning Girolamo for clearing the talk page of a redirected article? Banlieue 13 redirects to District 13, so it is unnecessary to have the {{Film}} template there. It already exists at Talk:District 13. In the future, do not template the regulars; see this for what I mean. —Erik (talkcontrib) 19:20, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Next tangent

[edit]

I'll probably forget by tomorrow, so I figured I'd leave you a note to see what you think. Various forms of South-East Asian theatre could use better coverage. Khon is the one I had looked up for more information, thinking surely it had at least a post-stub article. Sourcing-wise some of them might be an uphill battle, but it's something different eh? Vandals

[edit]

Hi! While patrolling the recent changes and also looking for vandals, I find that you're getting before I am! Just curious, how are you able to get there so fast? By the way, nice job! Netalarm 02:02, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Haha nice. I was going to download that myself, but as I'm not on my laptop... Anyway, cya around Wikipedia! Netalarm 02:09, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks to take care of my articles, but I don't uderstand this. No big deal, in fact, this is now fixed. Ciao Alvar 16:09, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Dont't worry, thanks for your job; I know mistakes can happen, especially in times of high vandalism. Au revoir. Alvar 16:17, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
