Hurricane Kristy is a hurricane that formed from the remnants of Nadine, in the Eastern Pacific. On October 21, Kristy became a tropical storm from strengthening in the Eastern Pacific, off the coast of Mexico.[1]The process of Kristy strengthening was because of the remnants of Nadine. On October 22, Kristy rapidly strengthened to a low-end Category 1, with winds of 75 mph.[2]
Meteorological history
[edit]On October 20, the remnants of Nadine were thought to pass over the Eastern Pacific.[3] Instead, a new system from a gap wind event[3] and its remnants formed, becoming a tropical depression the next day. On the afternoon of October 21, Kristy strengthened and become a tropical storm. The next day, Kristy strengthened into a low-end Category 1.
