From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a page to which evidently abandoned Draft and Userspace pages may be redirected. All such pages were judged by User:Legacypac (or other users) to have no potential use in Wikipedia because they fall under one or more of:

  • fail WP:UP#NOT
  • fail WP:V
  • fail WP:N
  • fail WP:NOTAWEBHOST
  • are likely a test pages of some sort
  • contain no meaningful content
  • are otherwise not productive contributions to Wikipedia

Periodically I will request bulk deletion of all pages redirected to this page. I will only do this after at least one week has passed for any page creator to object to the deletion, similar to how MfD and PROD work.

If you find a page you created or care about has been redirected to here, and you do not want such page deleted, simply go to the history of such page and UNDO the edit that created the redirect. That will alert me to take another look at the page. You can post on the talk page of such page why you feel the subject page should not be deleted and what the plan is for that page.

The other current purpose of this page is to test a way to deal with Abandoned Draft and User pages that do not obviously fall under an existing speedy deletion criteria and meet the criteria articulated above which does not involve wasting time at MfD with numerous individual nominations of obviously unsuitable pages.

@SmokeyJoe: @Premeditated Chaos: for comment. Does this have any merit? Legacypac (talk) 14:31, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

I don't feel like this is going to fly, although I respect your gumption in trying to get something done. The problems I see are that it's too far outside what we've normally done (which the community has a history of flipping out about), there's no central category or page that outside reviewers can browse to object, and redirecting hides the page content and causes an extra step for anyone who does want to review it. ♠PMC(talk) 23:26, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
Ya not perfect but it effectually immediately hides the page without needing anyone's permission. I'm frustrated that some people don't want to use MfD - the current process. If you don't want to read the noms don't read them. No one is forcing anyone to participate. Others don't like bulk noms. Others refuse to extend G13 to all Drafts. Others whine if we read CSDs broadly. None of these users are actively seeking deletion of problematic pages or seeking other solutions just spouting objections.
