force is impulse per second
force is work per meter
work per meter is impulse per second
both are properties of that which is seemingly disturbing the system
If gravity is disturbing a system, or if an applied force is disturbing a system, then an intrinsic account of the disturbance is recorded.
As the system is being disturbed, you can't create a location/arrangement disturbance without a concomitant temporal disturbance. To think that mechanical work can be imputed on an object independently while time stands still? Our own thinking is relative to our senses of how we perceive time. Force fails because force is a human creation which we do not know is real or just invented in spite of or due to our faulty human understanding.
Objects in a system are frozen in place and also frozen in time. Every object has a definite momentum and a definite kinetic energy. An object never has potential energy. The concept of potential energy requires the pre-existance and forever-existence of a force! Force can disappear in one universe, our universe, if turned off by a switch from another universe.
Force is not F = ma
Force is an unnecessary clause strung to the end of a "work per meter" and "impulse per second" equivalency!
Why can't we just say that "work per meter" is "impulse per second" is "Force" without the unnecessary 3rd axiom strung onto the first two? Cannot our understanding of physics be just as good without taking a pause and saying that the first two equivalencies are also equivalent to a new concept which we have always just taken for granted since Newton invented the idea? Can we add a 4th clause and say that:
"work per meter" is the same thing as "impulse per second" and "work per meter" is the same thing as Force and "impulse per second" is the same thing as Force and bananas are yellow?
Does not the beauty of our understanding of the universe get a little muddled by the adherence to our understanding of Force?
Force only exists in the minds of humans who can see a disturbance on objects as parts of a system in which we ourselves are in!
We have no idea what Force really is. We don't know why we take it for granted. All we know is that we are in an isolated system and we observe changes made to Our System and we can only look at it as some sort of disturbance to an equilibrium which we ourselves can't imagine because the human experience is the result of being in disequilibrium. Our own minds are not in sync with the universe, the universe is independent of how fast we measure time.
All we can surely know is that a disturbance to any part of one system of one universe relates the "work per meter" to the "impulse per second" of what we observe to be causing the disturbance and vice versa!
