My name is Leonel Basualdo, student of Biological Sciences in UDELAR - Uruguay. Currently, working on histerid beetles of Uruguay and disease biogeography.
General interest in paleontology, entomology, evolution and biogeography.
History: while beginning to use the citizen science platform iNaturalist, the built in Wikipedia made me perceive the absence of english Wikipedia page on the genus Nusalala, which I translated from french. Later, obtained the permission to upload and use a picture of the genus, from a argentinian photographer. Since then, worked on some neotropical genus, tribes and species, alive and fossil, uploaded hundred of pictures from papers and Flickr and own work, as well as shy intents on WikiData.
Etymology: as I started on Neuroptera pages, the name LeónHormiga (literal translation of antlion from spanish), seemed appropriate.
Feel free to make any comment you want on my work here or in another Wikipedia Project, as I'm still learning, and my activity is sporadic.
Self imposed tasks:
- Creation of south american cryptic taxa pages.
- Update of south american taxa pages.
- Creation of fossil taxa pages.
- Upload of multimedia to WikiMedia Commons.
- Request upload of photographs to authors.
