Oliver John Steinwandt (March 13, 1973) is an American professional wrestler. John has worked extensively throughout the independent circuit in countries including the United States, Canada, Japan and Mexico. Oliver has also trained several wrestlers through out his career including Brian Cage, Christina Von Eerie, Jeff Cobb and Nicole Savoy.[1]

Professional wrestling career

John began training in professional wrestling in 1989 after meeting Paul DeMarco, a notable wrestler of the 1960s and '70s. Throughout the years after that time, John has wrestled throughout the world and served the wrestling world with his knowledge through training other aspiring wrestlers. As a California native, John has worked with the Sacramento Wrestling Federation, serving as a head trainer. During this expansive career in wrestling, John has won championships in promotions including the National Wrestling Alliance,[2] All Pro Wrestling,[3] and Pro Wrestling Revolution.[4] He appeared in ECW briefly in 2009.[5]

Oliver wrestled in a tag team match for Zero-One's Ambitious 2004 Tag Tournament partnering with Al Katrazz losing to Hirotaka Yokoi and Shinya Hasimoto on May 15th, 2004 at Wakayama Prefectural Gymnasium in Wakayama, Japan. His 2nd appearance was a Hardcore tag team with that had partner with Al Katrazz defeating Tetsuhiro Kuroda & Yoshihito Sasaki during ZERO-ONE's Ambitious 2004 - Tag 2 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan

John appeared in Ultimate Pro Wrestling on 06/12/2004 was again Skulu in a losing effort. His next appearance was in a Tag Team Four Way as The West Coast Cartel with Al Katrazz losing to The Ballard Brothers (Shane Ballard & Shannon Ballard). The other two teams in the match were Native Blood (Navajo Warrior & Shooting Wolf) and Team Savage (Black Pearl & Ma'koa). His next appearance was in 10/30/2004. He wrestled Tom Howard for the UPW Heavyweight Championship in a losing effort. The Ballard Brothers (Shane Ballard & Shannon Ballard) defeat The West Coast Cartel at UPW Destruction In The Desert at Buffalo Bill's Casino in Primm, Nevada. His last two appearances was losing to Apocalypse at UPW Homecoming Havoc at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, California and losing to Joey Ryan at UPW Meltdown at Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, California.

Supreme Pro Wrestling (2005-2007)

His first appearance in SPW was on 06/19/2005 defeating Adam Thornstowe. In a Supreme Survival match Oliver John defeats Brian Raymond, El Chupacabra II, Luster The Legend, Mike Rayne, Mother Truckin' Otis and Preston Steel in Sacramento, California. In a 3-way match Oliver claims the SPW Heavyweight Championship by defeating Bruce Bukkake and Cjay Kurz.

WWE (2004, 2007, 2009)

Oliver John has had several appearances in the WWE. In 2004 he lost to Chuck Palumbo on Sunday Night Heat Episode 313 in Anaheim, California. In 2007 Oliver John, wrestling as Oliver Stone, wrestled in a tag match with Kafu losing to The Highlanders on WWE Heat episode 449 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. His final appearance for WWE was in 2009 losing to Sheamus on ECW episode 160 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California

Oliver John appeared in Ring of Honor in 2005 defeating Ryan Drago (Simon Gotch) at ROH Steel Cage Warfare at Basketball City New York City, New York

All Pro Wrestling (2006-2013)

Oliver John debuted on 11/18/2006 in a match against Kafu for the APW Universal Heavyweight Title, the match ended in a no contest. He won the APW Universal Heavyweight Title on 03/24/2007 again Kafu.

Pro Wrestling Revolution (2008-Present)[6]

Oliver John worked in Pro Wrestling Revolution[7] as "Old School" Oliver John[8] and won the vacated PWR Heavyweight Title against Gangrel on 8/11/2008 at Mt. Pleasant High School in San Jose, California, USA. John started a rivalry against Blue Demon Jr. for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship[9] that lead to a title mach at Championship Wrestling from Hollywood[10] for the title on 11/14/2008.[11] Oliver formed the "Border Patrol/La Migra[12]" to fight against Blue Demon and other Mexican Wrestlers.[13] Oliver started going by "El Patron" Oliver John around this time and former a stable to combat the "Illegal" wrestlers coming into America in various promotions, Members of The Border Patrol/La Migra[12] were Derek Sanders and Nathan Rulez when the group started off.[14] On June 6, 2009 he defeated Blue Demon Jr and won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. But the question came up if he did win the belt he won the "Red" Belt and the Blue Demon Jr he beat was not the real Blue Demon Jr when the real one showed up with the "Black" Belt. Blue Demon defeated Oliver John in a non title match but the controversy still stood who was the real world champion.[15] The feud for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship would continue in other promotions across the America's[16][17]. The feud with Blue Demon, Jr. and The Border Patrol started becoming such a hot feud that a documentary was created in regards to the feud called "Border Patrol Body Slam" which debuted in New York at the IFC Cinema.[18] Blue Demon, Jr. defeated "El Patron de la Migra Oliver John for the PWR Heavyweight Championship at World Wrestling League Idols of Wrestling iPPV on April, 23 2013[19] Oliver John started taking more of a background role at PWR and in the Border Patrol. He started working more Tag Team matches in 2016 when El Hijo De Trump (Eli Drake) won the Heavyweight title from Blue Demon, Jr.[20]

The Border Patrol/La Migra (2008-2013)

The Border Patrol defended their tag team championships using the "Free Bird Rule". With the success of the group they started appearing in other promotions starting with All Pro Wrestling where The Border Patrol (Derek Sanders, Nathan Rulez & Oliver John) defeated El Hijo de Rey Misterio, Kafu & Tito Aquino on February 2nd, 2008 in Santa Maria, California. The Border Patrol/La Migra Stable started appearing in Mexico starting with Todo X El Todo at the Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico on March 23rd, 2013 in a Best Two Out Of Three Falls match with Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Hijo del Solitario defeating La Migra (Derek Sanders & Shaun Ricker) with Oliver John by DQ. the following day another Best Two Out Of Three Falls match with Dr. Wagner Jr., El Hijo del Santo & El Hijo del Solitario defeating La Migra (Derek Sanders, Oliver John & Shaun Ricker)

Oliver John first appeared in 05/17/2008 for the National Wrestling Alliance with the Border Patrol. They lost to El Hijo de Rey Misterio, Mr. Primetime and Tito Aquino at Mount Pleasant High School in San Jose, California. in 05/31/2008 The Border Patrol (Nathan Rulez and Oliver John) lost to El Jijo de Rey Misterio and Rey Misterio Sr. in a title match for the vacant Revolution Tag Team Title.

Oliver John's first appearance for NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood was on 11/14/2008 challenging for the NWA World Heavyweight Title[21] in a losing effort against Blue Demon, Jr.[22] At the Cauliflower Alley Club in Las Vegas, Nevada The NWA Heritage Title (Now the CWFH Heritage Heavyweight Championship) was defended in a Four Way Elimination Match where Oliver John defeats Chris Hero, Ryan Taylor (c) and Steve Anthony for the title

Independent Circuit

In 2005 John appeared in Pro Wrestling IRON for the PWI Dojo Show tagging with Adam Thornstowe defeating Apollo Kahn & Tito Aquino and in a Three Way match losing to Adam Thornstowe. John has had matches in various promotions across the United States, Mexico, Guatemala and Japan. On August 28th, 2012 "Old School" Oliver faced Shinsuke Nakamura for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship at the Butte county fair.[23] Oliver made an appearance with "La Migra/Border Patrol's" Shaun Ricker and Derek Sanders attacking Dr. Wagner Jr. during a tag match at International Wrestling Revolution Group on April 25th, 2013 at Arena Naucalpan when Dr. Wagner Jr./Pirata Morgan/Hijo del Pirata Morgan beat La Familia Dinamita (Cien Caras Jr./Hijo del Mascara Ano Dos Mil/Mascara Ano Dos Mil Jr.) by DQ due to the run in.
