User:Lazman321/Spotchecks
This is a list of all the spot-checks I have done. Generally speaking, I try to check a substantial number of sources randomly to order to accomplish three tasks: 1) to ensure the article is accurate to its sources, 2) to determine if there are substantial text-source integrity issues the nominator needs to address, and 3) to determine if copyright violations have been committed. If the issues are excessive to the point that I believe the nominator cannot address them in a timely manner, I will vote to fail the nomination, though generally, I try allow the nominator time to address my concerns. For GA reviews, I will usually conduct this under the original research criterion, as it is the most relevant criterion.
Here is my general process:
- If there are under 25 citations, check every single one.
- If there are between 25 to 50 citations, check at least 25 of them
- If there are between 50 to 100 citations, check at least half of them
- If there are over 100 citations, check at least 50 of them
The sources reviews for Tangled Up (Girls Aloud album) and Fallout (video game) are exceptions and are only listed for historical purposes, as I didn't start doing proper spot-checks until my FA review for Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash. My GA review for Tangled Up was conducted when my process for reviewing sources was to informally check some of the sources and bring up whatever I noticed in the review itself. For Tangled Up, the problems were so extensive that I dedicated an entire page to it and failed the review afterward. As for Fallout, the source review was conducted to address concerns in its second FAC, as I had been trying to get it to FA-status at the time. Lazman321 (talk) 04:30, 2 December 2024 (UTC)
