Content
[edit]The main goal of Newszz is to provide a one stop news portal by aggregating news from various important sources. This helps the user to read all news on all topics from different sources at one place. This saves a plenty of time for the user.
Some of the popular news sources are Yahoo, Google, CNN, New York Times, The WashingtonPost, USA Today, Fox News and Big News Network. Newszz also uses country specific news sources for international news. News categories covered include Headline news, Odd news, Business/Finance, Sports, Entertainment, World, Health, Music, Science, Technology, Politics, Popular and Travel. [2]
Newszz also archives the news stories from the various sources everyday, in order to provide a historical perspective of the news. [3]
Design
[edit]Newszz uses a simple grid layout with the column on the left of the page containing the news categories and the row on the top of the page containing the news sources. The user can click on a category (Headlines for example) and then click on a news source (CNN for example) to get all the news from that source on the page. Relevant pictures and videos are included if available. The news provides a quick summary and it also links to the external news source for a more detailed story. The user can select how many news stories to display in one page. Also if there are several news stories, the stories are separated into multiple pages.[2]
Future
[edit]Newszz is planning to make the site more interactive by allowing the users to comment on any news story of their choice. Also users will be able to discuss their stories on popular sites like Digg.com and so forth. The site layout and design will be continuously reviewed and improved for a better user experience. Newszz also plans to add a news search capability.[1]
