The PANGOLIN is a four wheel drive armoured vehicle designed and produced by a commercial consortium led by theOVIK Group and by the Police Service of Northern Ireland. Designed and developed in 2011, the PANGOLIN is based upon the Land Rover 4x4 heavy-duty 110 chassis which incorporates a number of modifications designed by the OVIK Consortium.
Concept of Use
[edit]The general concept of the PANGOLIN is to provide protection for officers of the Police Service of Northern Ireland during public order operations. The vehilce is armoured to provide protection from threats posed by firearms and is hardenend to withstand a large amount of abuse from rioters, including petrol bombs.
