The Chicago Review is a quarterly literary journal sponsored by the University of Chicago and based in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. The publication focuses primarily on recent poetry and fiction. It also publishes reviews of recent books, as well as longer essays on topics related to contemporary imaginative writing. Founded in 1946, the journal has published many newly emerging authors (many of whom went on to become well-known, such as William S. Burroughs) as well as many established contemporary poets (such as August Kleinzahler and Nathaniel Mackey).
