Quaternary Glaciation Article Notes:

[edit]

-In the first paragraph the article mentions the glaciation's effect on flooding, but does not appear to address this in the article

-Lack of citation/limited depth when the article later mentions the effect on Ocean currents

-FEEDBACK

-many times throughout the article feedbacks are mentioned, but there is not an indication of whether they were positive or negative, this is a crucial error

-There is also a lack of citation in the discovery section, as well as no effort to name specific contributors, but rather only blanket generalizations

-No mention of silicate rock weathering and its feedback with glaciation

-uplift to silicate rock weathering

-ocean currents: are they talking about thermohaline circulation?

Foraminifera Article Notes:

[edit]

-terminology: does not refer to foraminifera as a climate proxy

-does a good job addressing isotopic ratios as method of climate reconstruction (analyses)

-could include figure to illustrate correlation

-Does not address limitations of proxy

-citations for ocean current reconstruction

-separate sections on paleoclimatology/oceanography

-article from 2001

-peer reviewed articles on use of foraminifera:

-focuses solely on forams

http://science.sciencemag.org/content/289/5485/1719.full

-specifically uses forams as main method of reconstruction
