About me

Hi. I've been asked to say a few words about myself as part of The Wikipedia Adventure, so here goes. I'm a scientist, educator and occasional writer, with a keen interest in topics related to Biology and Medicine. I enjoy family life, walking, travel, and nature.

I fell in love with the phrase 'lost horizons' when I first came across it in Sebastian Amyes's book, Magic Bullets, Lost Horizons: The Rise and Fall of Antibiotics. As usernames go, I appreciate it's a bit on the the long side. You can call me tH0r for short if you like.

I'm an advocate of the philosophy Criticism is the breakfast of champions, so if you notice me making a mistake please don't be afraid to let me know. That's about all for now. Thanks very much for visiting.
