Since his appearance in the TV, he became very much interested and passionate in films and arts. Thu Riya began his acting career as a child and performed in many Myanmar history films. Due to his schooling, he was not able to contribute fully in the acting career, but occasionally he participated in many entertainments of school concerts and educational film.

Thu Riya matriculated in 2004 and to be able to help his parents’ Myanmar traditional medicine business in Mandalay, Myanmar, he was enrolled at the Institute of Myanmar Traditional Medicine (Batch 30) in 2005. There, at the Institute of Traditional Medicine, he performed in theatrical plays and composed songs for the plays together with his friends. He also composed a song honoring the students and teachers of Batch 30 of the institute.

He earned Dip.T.Med, a diploma in Myanmar Traditional Medicine in 2008 and then relocated to Yangon to help out in his parents’ family business. [5]
