Hello, 안녕하세요. I am KyeongTak Han ( 1991 - present). I was born in Yeo-Su, S.Korea. My previous job was a soldier in the S.Korea until I came to America. I worked in the Korean army for 6 years as a staff sergeant. I have been in America for 4 months. I have been trying to learn America cultures, English, and Math. The main reason I came in America is to get transferable credits and bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering. I am an avid electronic class like engineering class, especially experiment. So, I hope to transfer to a university as an electrical engineering major. In the future, I hope to get a job related to electronics. I am also interested in a football game. When I have a free time, I usually watch NFL (National Football League). I am a big fan of SEAHAWKS. If you get interested in electronic engineering, NFL, or me let’s try to keep touch with me through the talk page. Thank you

Article Critique

[edit]

I visited the Korean drum page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: not a specific subject, lack of citations, and lack of an information about general use.

Not a Specific Subject

[edit]

In this article, I recognized that the writer uses too vague subject. it means Korean drum is exactly divided into two kinds of the drum. One is the Janggu. it consists of hourglass shaped body and two drumsticks. The other one is the Buk. Although both of these instruments are a traditional percussion, it differs each other in terms of its origins, rhythm they used to make sounds and shapes, Depending on the kinds of instruments, they also had a lot of different types of shapes and components.

Citation

[edit]

There are citations and references on this page, however, these make readers confused because nearly all citations and references are not accessible outsources, and they are irrelevant citations. Especially, one of the citations of Korean musical instruments, it leads me to Korean books store. Some of the citations also can’t be accessed. These mean this article doesn’t have reliable and proper citations on the page. For this reason, it is hardly aware of where this information comes from.

Common Use

[edit]

The Buk and Janggu generally play with other instruments. These performances are called Pungmul and Pansori. These are the significant things to know the Korean drum’s general use. However, in this article, it doesn’t mention even any citation or link related to the performance.[1] To be a complete and helpful article, it should talk and use specific citation or link about Pungmul and Pansori.

Summary

[edit]

To sum up, I’d like to give a low point in this article. Through using the visual things such as video, the readers easily understand how does it look like, how to perform it. However, this article set up the too vague subject, so the readers can misunderstand the article’s purpose. Even though this article refers to slight outsources and citations, the readers can’t believe this article whether they are trustable or not. It is because it takes the readers dead site and irrelevant site. Finally, this article needs concrete details about the object’s uses which generally performed from the past to these days.
