I grew up in Vienna. The music of Deep Purple, U2 and Depeche Mode among many others might have been an early influence. Later I focused more on jazz and contemporary music, especially fascinated by the sound of Ralph Towner, Jan Gabarek, John Surman and Erik Truffaz . David Sylvian has always been a great source of inspiration in songwriting. I learned to play guitar and the shakuhachi (japanese bamboo flute), because of my affinity for meditation. For this amazing instrument I have developed a sheet music and sequencer software:. I like to use (public domain) poems as song lyrics, e.g. of John Clare. My arrangements are quite often a combination of acoustic and electronic instruments.
