i To answer that question, first we must define "need". After the Basics (food, clothing, shelter) are taken care of, do you consider good education as a need? Do you consider medicines as a need? And what about maintaining good health, through eating better quality food? Fruits and vegetables are available at a wide range of prices, based on their quality. If good quality is a need then it comes at a certain (higher) price, for which we need to earn money. Similarly, a thatched hut may come at a very low price, but does it fulfil our need of protecting us from all kinds of weather? Apart from this, we also need to earn for days when we may not be able to work (illness, temporary or permanent disability, etc).
