New Social Network Well known social networks include sites like: Myspace, Facebook and Twitter, but what about less known social networking sites? There has been news on new sites such as Jumo, and even a smartphone networking application called Color which, "[Is] like an instant Twitter feed of photos from all the people in close proximity to you." source cnbc Getting back to social networking sites, Facebook fellow founder, "[Chris Hughes] is applying his expertise to a new venture called Jumo, which aims to connect people with nonprofits and charitable organizations." source NyTimes Twitter is newer among well known services and it "is a heady mixture of messaging, social networking, "microblogging" and something called "presence," shorthand for the idea that people should enjoy an "always on" virtual omnipresence." source NyTimes
Lesser known sites
[edit]What about newer sites that are buried in to obscurity by the big names in social networking? To be sure, there are an abundance of them. Different needs and wants may be met by different services, it's of course all a matter of personal preference. A couple examples and their descriptions are listed here, if you come across more I encourage you to add them, this list is meant to be informative:

http://www.knowboutmetoo.com A small, little known social networking site which claims to want to create what users want.
