The FatMax Xtreme FuBar Utility Bar, commonly referred to simply as the FuBar for Functional Utility Bar is a demolition tool made by Stanley for prying, splitting, board bending, striking and other general demolition jobs. For increased durability and to prevent chipping, the FuBar is made from a single forged and tempered steel bar. In 2006 the FuBar won a Popular Science Best Of What's New award.[1]
Design
[edit]The standard FuBar comes in 15, 18 and 30 inch lengths. At one end is a nail puller & pry bar. The other end has a sledge hammer face with a wedge directly beneath it for splitting boards. On the reverse of the head is a ripping hook with two-tiered jaws for grabbing common lumber & decking sizes. They have also come out with a FatMax FuBar Forcible Entry Tool for fighting fires which has additional features such as a spanner wrench, hydrant wrench, gas shut-off feature, and carabiner hole and comes in 18 and 30 inch lengths. In addition, the rubber grip from the original FuBar is replaced with flame resistant grips on the Forcible Entry Tool.
