Alexander George Arbuthnot, CMG, DSO (born 30 November, 1873) was a Brigadier in the British Royal Field Artillery.

Born in Woolwich in Kent, he was the son of General Sir Charles George Arbuthnot and nephew of Sir Alexander John Arbuthnot. He served with the 24th Battery, Royal Field Artillery. Having entered the army in 1893, he became Captain in 1900 and Major in 1910. Arbuthnot fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches five times and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order. He was further honoured with the Serbian Order of the Star of Karageorge.[citation needed]. He was an honorary game warden of Kenya [1].

In 1905, he married Olive Mary Hay, daughter of Colonel W H Burton.
