Secret Oktober Secret Oktober are an English band, formed in 2011 in Birmingham, composed of chief song-writer Sebastian Storm (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Andy Foster (bass guitar, keyboards), Simon Pearce (guitar), and Paul Smith (drums).
Secret Oktober's name was taken from the B-side to Duran Duran's Union of the Snake (1983). Their music is influenced by New Wave, New Romantic, and synthpop acts from the early 1980s including the aforementioned Duran Duran, Japan, the Human League, OMD, Ultravox, and Depeche Mode.
Secret Oktober have released one album to date, the 2013 release Invitation to the Dance.
Career
Formation
In 2011, after meeting on an internet forum, Storm and Foster began writing songs for what would later become Secret Oktober. They were joined by Smith and Pearce after advertising a vacancy online.
Debut Album
Invitation to the Dance (2013) was written, produced, and recorded entirely by the band themselves and released on their own label 'Oktoberfest Records'.
