How-To immerse yourself in contributing
[edit]As with anything, there's a learning curve…
Implementation
[edit]Wikipedia has a Visual Editor. Probably it's better to be old school and learn the markup. But to learn the different typographical options, like heading levels and font style, it's much faster to switch between them in the Visual Editor.
For the html based tags like ref, it'll definitely be easier to use the VE.
Technics
[edit]The Heading style is not bold. The subheadings are bold. The level command is control-123456, with pre-formatted ^-7 and blockquote ^-8.
Wonder if you need to save in the VE. Yeah, you do, Publish changes...
Next comes a Heading 2, made with ^-4. Title is 1, Heading is 2, Subheadings are level + 2.
Ref links
[edit]So now we can create a citation[1]. Select some text and click the Cite button. See the reference, footnotes can – understandably – get really complicated.
