La Familia is an active heel professional wrestling stable in World Wrestling Entertainment on their SmackDown! and ECW brands.
History
[edit]La Familia initially began informally at Armageddon during the triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Edge, The Undertaker, and Batista. During the match, it seemed Edge that there were 3 Edges to fool Batista and The Undertaker. And with this distraction, Edge gained his second World Heavyweight title.[1] On the next SmackDown!, Edge and Vickie Guerrero (Edge's "fìance") outed Edge's impostors as Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder (formerly known as the Major Brothers) so began the impetus for the group.[2]
Chavo Guerrero Jr. initially voiced his dislike of Edge and Vickie's disrespect of the Guerrero name. But after an assist in helping Chavo defeat CM Punk for the ECW Championship, and a combined beatdown on Rey Mysterio cemented his allegiance to "La Familia"[3]
WrestleMania XXIV ended on a down for La Familia as Edge and Chavo lost the ECW and World Championships to the Brothers of Destrction Kane and The Undertaker, respectively. Shortly, after this Chavo hired Bam Neely to combat the brothers.
