The Thessaloniki Aristo is a series hybrid electric vehicle that uses e-Power technology, licensed from Japanese Nissan Motor Company. There is no relationship between the engine generator and the wheels. The traction is provided by a single EM57 electric motor that's used in Nissan's e-Power applications. The internal combustion engine is a 1.3 L (1,248 cm³) Fiat Multijet diesel produced in Poland and shipped all the way to Greece. The Aristo can go 350 km (220 mi) on a single charge. Depending on the situation, the engine can kick in if the battery is low or the battery(ies) are depleted. The Nissan electric motor that's imported from Japan produces 100 kW (130 hp) and 300 N⋅m (220 lb⋅ft). The generator produces 95 hp (71 kW). Combined with the electric motor total horsepower is 171 kW (229 hp). There is no plug-in capability.
It is first time since a Fiat 1.3 L Multijet diesel engine made its way to a hybrid vehicle.
