Escena de Cicatrices is an original drama series by Alejandro Arturo which is scheduled to air in early 2012 on EX. A family-themed story integrated with love, trust, and hidden truth, Escena is a serial drama on the lives of actors.

Plot

Escena de Cicatrices centers on three characters, Teresa Montalvan, Paulina Dayariz and David Ramos, three generations separated by jealousy.

Teresa came from a very poor family. Her parents are gamblers. However, she is ambitious and passionate in acting. At 15, she ran away from home to participate in a theater casting. During the casting session, she was paired with Carlos, a good looking actor. The directors were surprised by their chemistry and had chosen them to led a theatrical play. During rehearsals, Carlos tries everything to make Teresa become his girlfriend. Only after the play ended, Teresa accepted him. Teresa's parents saw her in the play and kidnapped her. They forced her to marry Eugenio Dayariz, the son of a debtor in order to settle their debts. Eugenio, a nice man, helped Teresa to escape during their wedding. However, their parents failed their attempt. Although Eugenio treated Teresa kindly, Teresa showed rejections. They never consumed their marriage until Teresa found out Eugenio is dying. Eugenio and Teresa at last consumed their marriage after 2 years. They bore a daughter, Paulina. When Paulina is 5 years old, Eugenio dies. Teresa changed and kept on abandoning Paulina in order to pursue her passion in acting. When she failed in an audition, she blames Paulina. When Paulina is 15, she joined an acting club in her school. When Teresa found out about it, she hit Paulina and left a scar on her back. Later, Paulina decided to run away from home because she was not able to stand her mother anymore. History repeats when Paulina met Fernando in an casting audition for a movie. But this time, Paulina and Fernando proved their love without any doubt. After they finished the movie. Paulina found out she is pregnant. Teresa appeared just in time and have Paulina locked in their house. Fernando was desperated since Paulina went missing after telling him about the pregnancy. When Paulina gave birth to the baby boy, Teresa left the baby in front of a big mansion, owned by The Ramos' which then adopted the baby as their own child. Now neither Fernando nor Paulina know about the well-being of their son. Paulina decided to run away from her mother again and left the country. She changed her name to Paula Diaz, so that her mother would not be able to track her. In the other hand, Fernando married Tanya Gomez, a make-up artist who had her eye on him since she first saw him. Tanya made Fernando to believe that she is pregnant of his child. Fernando asked the help of his father, Carlos to find Paulina and his son. 20 years later, David, Paulina and Fernando's son, entered university. His father enrolled him in business studies but he rejects and joined an acting academy instead. Paulina, now a famous writer and actress, returns to write a drama together with Fernando, whom she never saw again after 20 years. They worked through e-mails and ths never saw each other. Once again, during an audition, David met the love of his life, the beautiful Veronica, who got the role of a villain. Victoria, Veronica's sister got the female lead role. Both sisters are attracted to David. This causes a turmoil between the sister. During the audition, David succesfully impressed Teresa, who is now a famous actress and director. He and the other sisters got their respective roles. David was touched when he studied the script given to him, written by Paula and Fernando. Paulina and Fernando wrote their love story for the new telenovela. Both of them were curiosed how their stories are in sync with each other and decide to wirte the novela fully based on their life.
