The Letter 'E' is one of the most common letters on a keyboard. It was suggested in 2021, that it was the most productive letter on the keyboard.

In Ancient times, the letter 'E' was known as having links to nobility. This provided 'E' with increased status and wealth within social circles. 'E' became prominent in language having proved itself in battle.

One of the most memorable battles in history is known as the 'Great War of the Alphabet' which occurred on the outskirts of Castlebar, Co. Mayo in 1155. Here, the letter 'E' faced its greatest adversary, known simply as 'D.' There was much bloodshed during this battle. Despite this, there was an amicable reunification which led to the creation of the modern day alphabet, which has remained prevalent in the centuries that followed.

The Alphabet is a key aspect of the Keyboard. The letter 'E', having gained notoriety through victory, was the first letter to choose their placement, along with the placement of other letter of their choosing on the modern day keyboard. This was a great honor. 'E' chose to be above 'D.'
