My Life In Brief

Born on August 2, 1983 to Pamela Montgomery and the late Lamar Montgomery, I am the oldest of two children. A bright kid with a knack for understanding things related to technology, I was able to read at an advanced level at an early age. I excelled in creative writing assignments and was described by teachers as "smart, affable and creative". Growing up in a dysfunctional home, I found many ways to escape the ongoing drama. I was an exceptional student who graduated from Newton County High School in 2001. My first job post-graduation was at K-Mart. From there, I ventured to several other retailers during the next few years. In 2004, I moved away from my hometown to find myself. I met and became friends with a diverse group of people during that time. In 2009, I had a brush with death when I was struck by a car. With serious arm and leg injuries, I spent nearly two weeks in the hospital. While recovering, I decided that in due time I would devote my time towards become a writer. After being laid off by a now defunct video store chain last year, I decided to follow through with that goal.
