American International School of Rotterdam
The American International School of Rotterdam (AISR) is an international school located in Rotterdam, Netherlands, which was created in 1959. Children can go to the school from Pre- Kindergarden to 12th grade. However, many students come and go from the school. The language of instruction is English.
COR
[edit]Because of the small size of the school a Community Of Respect is very important. Recently the school created the COR program. It guides the students to create the community of respect its name encompasses.
Curriculum
[edit]The curriculum for the elementary and middle school (Pre-Kindergarden through 8th grade) is tailor made to teach each of the students the necessary knowledge. At the high school level students can elect to pursue the IB Diploma, which most of the student do.
Extracurriculars
[edit]Most of the students at AISR choose to do extracurriculars. On the sport level you can play Basketball, Swimming, Volleyball, Soccer, Softball, and Track & Field.
Students can also choose to be on the Student Council and participate in Model United Nations.
Performing Arts
[edit]Students can choose to participate in performing arts. In the elementary school all children have lessons twice a week. Students start to really work with instruments in third grade and continue to 8th grade.
A high school band is available. You can also take IB music in 11th and 12th grade.
AISR Website
[edit]I urge you to go to the AISR website as this is were you can gain the most reliable knowledge. It can be found at here.
This is just a very quick overview of the school. You should look at the school's website. Also, if you go to AISR I WANT you to add to this. I just took the liberty of starting it...
