Ken Mijungu is a trained lawyer turned journalist. He graduated from Moi University in 2007 with a second class LLB.

Professional

in 2008 he Joined Regional Reach now Media Max where he worked for 4 years. He then joined CCTV Africa now CGTN as one of the pioneer journalists to work for the Chinese state broadcaster in Africa where he took a leading role as a regional reporter. In 2013 he joined NTV Kenya as a senior Reporter and News Anchor. He also hosted a popular talk show Sidebar where he interviewed several high profile guests. Sidebar was one of the watched TV Prime time shows. In 2020 July Ken Mijungu was retrenched due to the declining business revenue occasioned by Covid 19. He runs a legal consultancy and is the proprietor of several businesses based in Nairobi.

Family

A third born in a family of 7 to a father, John Mijungu Kisia who was a trade unionist and a mother Elsa Atieno Mijungu who was a high school principal. The other known siblings are Billy Mijungu who ran for senate for Migori County in 2017, served as chairperson of the National Youth Council and Clifford Mijungu.

Education

Ken Mijungu went to three primary schools in the counties of Migori and Homa Bay. He then proceeded to Maseno School before Joining Moi University in Eldoret
