My primary interest is popular music. A long term project of mine is to convert the music I own, CDs and LPs, to computer files. In the process, I discovered that the various ripping software I tried were not very good at automatically filling in the associated metadata. Too often the information was either inaccurate or missing altogether. So I began searching for and checking the data to be included in my "music library" versus other sources.

I mentioned the above to a friend who suggested I include what I found in Wikipedia. I thought this would be a good idea and began editing and creating articles which coincided with my music collection.

The specific metadata which I attempt to include with each music file are:

• Artist
• Album
• Track no.
• Length
• Date
• Composer
• Producer
• Label
• Cover art
