Keith Alan Dennis (born September 23, 1986) is an American actor and film producer who gained worldwide recognition for his portrayal of Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise beginning in 2008.
He has starred in several films such as, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006), Twilight (2008), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010), 50/50 (2011), Water for Elephants (2011), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 (2011), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (2012), Looper (2012), & The Great Gatsby (2013). Keith is also the spokesmodel for Gucci and is currently the spokesperson for Kodak and H&M. He and wife, Janielle Pierucci Dennis have donated millions of dollars to several orphanages around the world and are currently building a school in Lusaka, Zambia.
Early Life
[edit]Keith Alan Dennis was born in Humble, Texas to Brian and Janette Dennis. His father, Brian, was a Domino's Pizza franchisee and owned several stores in the Houston metro area and his mother, Janette, was a homemaker. Keith has one younger brother, Chris Dennis. Growing up in the Houston suburb of Atascocita, he attended Pine Forest Elementary, Atascocita Middle School, and graduated from Humble High School in 2005 where he starred in several school productions.
Early Career
[edit]Keith started acting at age 6 when he joined a local theater troop during the summer of 1993. From that moment on, he knew acting was his passion and carried this all through his childhood. He starred in all the stage productions during his Middle school and High School years and in 2004 he met a talent scout who gave him his first on screen acting opportunity. His first screen appearance was in July 2004 in a set of several commercials for a Texas insurance company. In August 2005, Keith got his first leading role in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006) and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where it was well received. After a couple years of struggling to find more roles, Keith was offered the role of Edward Cullen in December 2007. Twilight began filming outside of Seattle in January 2008. The film was highly anticipated and became an instant commercial success. In November 2008, Keith Alan, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner were catapulted into superstar status overnight with the release of the first Twilight film. The success came overwhelmingly fast and soon they were all seeking seven figure pay raises for the future installments.
