Instructions

[edit]
  1. Identify an album article that needs cover art. The maintenance categories Album infoboxes lacking a cover and Wikipedia requested images of albums are good places to start.
  2. Locate an image of the album cover. Amazon.com and Allmusic may be good sources.
  3. Download the cover image, and reduce the image size to 300 x 300 pixels (or smaller).
  4. Upload the image to Wikipedia at Special:Upload.
    1. For the Destination Filename, choose something descriptive, like Bloodline - Kenny Neal - album cover.jpg
    2. For the Summary, use the Non-free use rationale album cover template using the format below.
    3. For the Licensing, choose Non-free/Fair Use -> Covers -> Album or single cover
  5. Edit the Album article, adding your filename to the Cover element of the Infobox.
  6. Check the Album talk page to see if an editor has requested that an image be added to this article. If they have (you've now fulfilled that request!), edit the talk page and remove imageneeded=y from the template.
