Hello there! In case you thought I was being referential, my name really IS Karthik Kakarala.
I am a student (in between undergraduate and post-graduate education), composer, visual artist, occasional music booking agent, and even more occasionally a writer (not counting my Wikipedia activities, of course)).
I have a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Science.
When I refer to myself as a composer, I refer primarily to my work on symphonic pieces arranged for electric guitars ensembles, backed by electric bass and drums, influenced primarily by Glenn Branca and Rhys Chatham in the modern age, with Anton Bruckner and Igor Stravinsky being significant classical influences. Bands like Sonic Youth, Earth, ISIS, and Red Sparowes are among the less technically symphonic inspirations.
As a singer-songwriter performer, with or without a backing band, I tend to refer to myself as Of Course You Realize...
As a noise rock or noise music act, I/we go under the name of Solar Shadows.
I am in an electronic dance music/dance-punk/scream outfit called Wicker Event, and we're on indefinite hiatus... since the frontman is the county's Green Party candidate for the Illinois State House of Representative, I doubt we'll be back in action before early November.
I used to be the noise keyboard-player for a now-dead grindcore band that settled on the name of Pizza Party At... before its end.
My visual arts tend to have the goal of revealing the worst about our natures, primarily our fears and anxieties, while also revering the biological mechanics of nature in relation to humanity's best efforts.
One day I'll get back to writing fiction, maybe one day I'll write poetry or write in a newspaper again.

Contributions in biographies of noise bands (and pretty much any non-mainstream band I can confirm the information on), along with important terms and equipment. Edits in any number of other fields are too numerous to list without boring you.
