According to legend, they are descendants of Pandava prince Arjuna, son of Samrat Parikshit, through his great grandson Samrat Janmejay.
King Yudhish, who established the capital of Indraprastha in the Hastinapur empire, later abandoned in favor of his brother Arjun's grandson Parikshit. Hastinapur was later called flood and Pandava empire was later emphasized elsewhere. It is believed that the modern city of Delhi is at the place of Indraprastha. Two inscriptions dated found in ninth century AD Pehova mention that the place was controlled by Gurjar Mahendrapala, Kannauj and a Vishnu Temple in this place was constructed in the place of the Tomar family,
Historical references The Pehova inscription issued during the reign of the Tomar Dynasty occurs in Gurjar Pratihar Raja Mahendrapala E (RC 885-910 CE) [Jagir of Parthiras of Delhi Tomar Kannauj]. This unwanted inscription has said that the Tomar family The Joula became prosperous by serving an unknown king. His descendants included trembling, Judge, and Gogga. Inscription shows that Gogga Mahendrapala was a vassal of the mother. It records the creation of three Vishnu temples by Gogga and his half-brother Full-King and Dev-Raja. The temples were located on the banks of Saraswati river in Prithuka (IAST: Puthudaka; Pehova). There is no information available about the immediate successor of Gogga. The Pehova inscription shows that this particular Tomora family was settled around the Karnal area. However, F. Kilhorn suggested that this Tomora family actually lives in Delhi: he went to Pehova on pilgrimage, and built a temple there
How did Gurjar Tomar go to the hands of Delhi Gurjar Chauhan?
736AD. The oldest reference to Gurjar Tomar is found in an inscription in Pehova, ancient Pritudaka, in Karnal district of present-day Haryana of Haryana during the reign of Gurjar Pratihar Raja Mahendrapal I of Kanuj. It says that he was the King Jumala of the Gurjar tomar dynasty who, after taking care of the affairs of the Gurjar Pratihar Raja, had attained prosperity.
