Reference 2.0

[edit]

Defining the Undefinable:

[edit]

Reference 2.0 (like Web 2.0) has a different definition depending on the source. Indeed, being unable to come to one specific definition actually defines the 2.0 world. Dynamic, interactive and collaborative, Reference 2.0 is a changing idea.

Patterns found in Reference 2.0[1]:

  1. Collaboration (content)
  2. Social Networking (outreach)
  3. Customization (content, social networking)
  4. Seamlessness (multiformat)

Web 2.0 Tools and Their Relationship to Reference

[edit]

There are multitudes of tools and applications on Web 2.0. As a reference librarian, it is necessary to decide which tools should be used, how they should be used and how efficiently they could be used.
