Justin Joseph Hilaire Cardinal Schubert. I grew up constantly looking at art as my Mother Joane Cardinal-Schubert was attending the University of Calgary as a student in fine art and then later worked as a curator at the Nickel Arts Museum before finally maintaining a studio full-time. I have been her assistant now for over 22 years Until her Death in September 16 2009.   I have been interested in Animation, 3-D modelling and design of computer Sprites (pixels to create pattern of light)and Modern Artists like Andy Warhol since childhood, my first experience being with computer animation on an Apple IIe in Junior High. After this I went on to produce a 2 minute clay motion based animation short of Stop - motion (fixed movie camera) piece which we edited and showed to family and friends. A few years later for Industrial Arts Classes I used an early version of Auto-Cad and a graphic tablet on an Apple IIe to design a CO-2 powered car which I later raced and which won several heats (races).   I was very serious about all of these productions having been influenced at an early age by being shown how to use a Main Frame Computer and architectural drafting programs by my uncle, Douglas Cardinal at his Architectural firm offices. I was frustrated, however, using a Commodore 128, as it was very basic labor intensive on that computer but, I had to learn basic computer language, which l think was a plus. During Junior and Senior High School I studied Drama/Theater, as well as Art. After finishing my Senior Matriculation in High School at the Plains Indian Cultural Survival School.   I decided to go to the Alberta College of Art where I studied sculpture, painting, jewellery, and graphic arts. I used the computer a lot to do my basic design. I specifically directed my education to obtain the proper background and information to answer the questions I had regarding my own expression by this time I had a computer of my own. Attending the En'owkin Center in Penticton (The Native Art and Writing School) I had access to computers and studied writing, sculpture, painting and drawing.   I now have a Imac Intel Darwin 10.5.8 and a PC Home-built X386/32bit running Windows 6.5.8 SP3 that I use for drawing, writing, and designing. I have produced my own web page and have designed others as well.   Presently I enjoy the ever-changing technologies of the mac using Adobe Photo-Shop and combining this technology with my writing and art background.
