I am an undergraduate student at Rice University and am contributing to Wikipedia as part of a Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities class, Education Program:Rice University/Human Development in Global and Local Communities, Section 2 (Spring 2014), that I am currently taking.

This semester, I am planning on editing Neglected tropical diseases and Neglected tropical disease research and development. I am considering combining the two articles because both articles contain information about diseases and research/development initiatives. The topic does not seem to cleanly split down this line and neither article is so long that a combined article would be too long. I would like to add more information about the topic and update the current information since neither article has been recently edited. I would also like to add a sociological perspective. I plan on using scholarly articles as sources.

During the fall 2013 semester, I revised the article Birth Control in Africa, as part of a class assignment in Education Program:Rice University/Poverty, Justice, Human Capabilities, Section 2 (Fall 2013).
