Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
[edit]The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is a mid-sized pickup truck sold as a trim level for the Colorado. The ZR2 is more off-road capable with a variety of upgrades engineered to give the ZR2 better features and suspension components designed to handle difficult terrain. Base price of the Colorado ZR2 is $42,995, and can easily top out close to $50,000 depending on selected options. Available base color options include Summit White, Black, Silver Ice Metallic, Red Hot, Satin Steel Metallic, Deepwood Green Metallic, and Graphite Metallic. There are also two premium color options: Kinetic Blue Metallic and Cajun Red Tintcoat.
Overview
[edit]The Colorado ZR2 includes two available engine choices: a 3.6L V6 or a Duramax 2.8L Turbo-Diesel.[1] Standard upgrades over the base Colorado include Multimatic DSSV shocks[2], front and rear electronic locking differentials, a wider track for more stability, and a purpose-built off-road suspension, a more aggressive front bumper and grille, wider fender flares, skid plates for underbody protection, rock sliders, off-road tires, and an computer controlled off-road setting that assists the driver in various scenarios.[3]While purpose built as an off-road vehicle, many reviewers have noted how well the Colorado ZR2 performs on the road when compared to its direct competition from other manufacturers.[4]
