I am a freelance writer, podcaster, and photographer. I have had material published in USA Today and the Los Angeles Times. I often write under the pen name Karl Stern and operate the websites KarlStern.com and jstevehicks.com.. I also produce a classic wrestling history podcast and write for Bryan Alvarez at FigureFourOnline.com.

In the early 2000's I was hired as an expert in combat sports by a law firm in Atlanta, GA to do research for a case against Turner Sports involving the pro wrestling promotion WCW. I was thus certified as an expert witness in pro wrestling in the state of Georgia. I am also author of the Amazon Kindle novel Absence of Absalom.
