Jayme D. Rose (born December 30, 1996),known as GolD Jayme, is an American rapper and songwriter. Born and raised in South Florida, Jayme gained street buzz following the release of the mixtape Daze 2 Remember.

Early Life

Jayme was born December 30, 1996, in Miami, Florida but would move apartment to apartment until the age of 8 where him and his mom would settle in Hollywood, Florida. At the age of 10 Jayme and his mother would move to Deerfield Beach where jayme claims as his hometown along with Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Hollywood. He grew up listening to Linkin Park and Nas. Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" was the first album he owned, which he stole out of a Best Buy in Hollywood, Florida. At the age of 12 Jayme began listening to Kendrick Lamar J. Cole and Nirvana, who Jayme says played a huge influence on him as an early teen. He cites Good Kid Maad City, Appetite For Destruction, Iowa, Illmactic, Luv is Rage, Acid Rap, Meteora, Ride The Lighting and Whole Lotta Red as albums that made him want to be a rapper.

Jayme began rapping as a freshman at Spanish River High School but wouldn't take it seriously until later in life. "I always rapped for fun but i didnt realize i could start making money from it until my ckose freind got a check for $10000 USD" is what jayme said when asked what made him start taking rap more serious.

Jayme graduated high school school and went to Florida Atlantic University for a semester. When asked why he dropped out of college he said "I aint drop out, im just stackin up some dough, imma go back soon."Jayme started working at mcDonalds where he would get fired a day later for hotboxing the walk in cooler. Jayme began to rap in 2016 under the stage name "Jayme" around the campus, talent shows, college bars and local open mics. He later changed his name to Gol D Jayme, which was then shortened to GolD Jayme because of copyright. The name Jayme comes from his mom because his mom always wanted a girl and the Gol D is inspired by a japanese cartoon called One Piece.
