"Red Sparrow Theatre was founded in February 2011. The ambitious brainchild of three high school and college friends: Dan O'Brien, Jesse Evans and Joe Tassone."[1] Red Sparrow Theatre is an award winning company having won seven awards in May 2011.[2] They are one of many new theatre companies to crop up in Sault Ste. Maire, Ontario over the past few years.[3] The company has staged two shows as of date, Time Flies written by David Ives [directed by Dan O'Brien] and The Zoo Story written by Edward Albee [directed by Jesse Evans].[4] The company's first season is underway with Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare, Danny, King of the Basement by David S Craig, Lysistrata by Aristophanes, and The Stone Water Rapture by Doug Wright.[5] They have a website at www.redsparrowtheatre.ca and are located at 128 March Street Unit One, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada.[6]
