[edit]- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

[edit]Hello, your UTRS appeal #14075 has been accepted and your account has been unblocked. Please make sure to request a user name change as soon as possible in order to prevent a re-block. Also, please read our policies on conflicts of interest before making any further edits. Thanks, Nakon 00:59, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
I had my doubts about the UTRS appeal, but let it slide. However, since you have immediately continued editing to promote your product, and have done nothing else on Wikipedia, I have reinstated the block on your account. Any unblock request will need to include an agreement that you will not edit on the subject of Sage India journals on Wikipedia again. Yunshui 雲水 14:54, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
Page unblock request
[edit]Hi!
Could you please let me know that is it not possible for me toh create article pages of journals just for the sake of information. I will not include any kind of promotional activity in the page and will only include the information about the journal just for the sake of knowledge. The page is not at all a promotional page, it is just an information page because any information on wikipedia is more easily searchable for both students and scholars. Please guide me to the best.

Decline reason:
Wikipedia is not a web directory; the material you are cutting-and-pasting from https://us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/vikalpa/journal202413 is entirely for the purpose of promoting this journal, as is appropriate there, but not here. --jpgordon::==( o ) 14:02, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi Gordon. Could you please let me know that is it not possible for me to create SAGE Journals pages just for the sake of information and not at all for promotion. If copy pasting from the journal website is an issue then I would be more than happy to edit the information myself rather than copying it from anywhere. Please guide me that what information on this page seems to be a promotional materials, I will certainly not include that for the page. Please let me know what can be done Regards Srishti
Decline reason:
You are not allowed to copy-paste anything, from anywhere. And articles which promote or advertise anything, including journals, are not allowed. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 13:57, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

- Hi! I'm popping in for a question: are you checking to ensure that these journals would pass WP:NJOURNAL? Using copyrighted text is a huge issue, but so is creating articles for journals that may not pass notability guidelines. There are a lot of journals out there and not all of them pass notability guidelines. For example, is the journal covered in secondary, reliable sources that are independent of the journal, the people who publish it, and the people who create submissions or run the journal? If not, is the journal frequently cited by notable publishers/journals/sources or included in the major citation indices, indexing services, and bibliographic databases in its field? Those are the most common ways for a journal to pass notability guidelines on here. Being published through a notable publisher (Sage) isn't something that would automatically give notability, although it will make it far more likely to be included in some of the major indices out there. (If you have access, Ulrich's Web is usually the best way to find out who is indexing the journal. If not, let me know and I'll check for you since I do have access.) Request reason:
The Journals from SAGE pass the notability guidelines and have been included in citation indices, bibliographic databases. Please unblock this page we shall use it just for the information purpose and not for promotion and will not put up any articles from the journals and will just put up the basic information about the journal 58.68.45.254 (talk) 05:55, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You must be signed in to request unblocking. Your use of 'we' suggests strongly that you are editing on behalf of these journals, and that means you have a 'conflict of interest' WP:COI. If your only purpose here is to get articles for these journals, you may find that you won't be unblocked. Peridon (talk) 14:56, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hi, I am sorry I was not aware that I was not logged and I apologize for the use of 'we'. Also the information about journals published by SAGE is already there on Wikipedia but it was updated long before and there have been many additions since then so my purpose of creating this account was to add on the updated journals in the existing categories of SAGE Publications Journals and I would just put very generic information as it is there for other pages of SAGE Journals and it would include the information about the abstracting and indexing of the journals and will not include any promotional stuff. Srishti Katiyar (talk) 04:13, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
Decline reason:
It is clear that you don't understand our WP:COI guidelines and despite the earlier block and subsequent unblock you don't seem to have any other purpose on Wikipedia than to edit solely around the journal articles. Your unblock requests are all pretty much the same, don't see any reason to unblock until you understand the purpose of Wikipedia. Please do not post any more similar unblock request, try to show your understanding of our policies and guidelines, especially regarding conflict of interest, failing to do so will result in your access to this talk page being revoked.—SpacemanSpiff 16:39, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
