I have noticed that even though I pay for Netflix every month, I consume most of my video via pirated online streaming. I only do so because Netflix does not provide the content I want to see. But, I am more that willing to pay around 25-30 a month if I can view everything I want. I am curious to see if anyone agrees with that or are willing to pay more or not willing to pay at all. Cable Networks Getting in the Way

I think that if media providers are serious about not wanting "pirate" websites giving out their materials for free, they need to come up with an easy way for people to watch the materials. When a company wishes to increase profits, it makes a lot of sense to start there own Netflix-esque website. However, for the viewer this causes a lot of inconvenience, most viewers aren't going to pay for each individual company and go to a bunch of websites. They will only do this when they know exactly what they are looking for, which means that to be introduced to new programs will always need a heavy marketing budget.

A Possible Solution

What I think would be the best solution is for sites like Netflix and Hulu become more like cable providers. They can give you a basic package that includes their original material and some basic movies and tv shows, and offer the customer the option of choosing a other packages, like a "Fox Package" or a "Viacom Package" in which will cost a little bit extra each month, but will provide a lot of convenience.

Internet Providers

Another thought that occurs is that internet providers, many of which are already cable providers, can offer a free Netflix-like service on sign up and provide basic movies and television programs and offer packages.
