History
[edit]John De Lorean was well-known in the automobile industry for his success as chief engineer at General Motors' (GM) Pontiac division, and later for his leadership at the company's Chevrolet division. GM promoted De Lorean to vice president of its American car and truck division in 1972. He unexpectedly resigned on April 2, 1973 at age 48.
