Hi! I am Joshua from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I did my Bachelor's degree in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and currently I am doing my postgraduate studies there. I am a user of Wikipedia (obviously since this is my user page). My mother tongue is Mandarin and it is my everyday language. However, since attending university, I tend to speak both Mandarin and English in my daily conversations with friends. I am also proficient in Malay since it is a compulsory subject in Malaysian primary and secondary schools. I just began to learn Japanese and I can understand very simple Japanese phrases.
I believe that every editor should be respected and treated equally, no matter that they do major edits or correct some typos on Wikipedia. We should be civil and always assume good faith on Wikipedia.
I am bold in edits and I have a firm stance against vandalism on Wikipedia. If you are not happy with my edits (or just want to talk to me) feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Remember to sign your posts on talk pages - and only on talk pages - with ~~~~ (four tildes). My signature looks like this: Joshua Talk to me What I've done? [date and time].
I am a bookworm since I was a child. My mother bought me a set of World Book Encyclopedia when I was seven. I used to read the encyclopedia almost everyday (I was surprised and rather happy when I found out that Jimmy Wales also used to read the encyclopedia). Besides that, I also own a Encyclopedia Britannica CD-ROM.
The first article I found on Wikipedia was Passport (your papers, please!). I found it on a Google search and it was exactly what I was looking for. Since then, I visited Wikipedia very often even though I was using dial-up access (and when the phone bill came...). On 13:44, 20 July 2006 (UTC) I created this account and began actively involved in editing. However, I think myself more as a reader of Wikipedia than an editor. Since attending university in 2007, I have cut down editing because of my busy schoolwork, although I still access Wikipedia almost everyday and edit occasionally.
Besides English Wikipedia, I am also a registered user on the Chinese, Malay and Simple English Wikipedias as well as Wikimedia Commons. These are my user pages on the different projects:
Among these projects, I am primarily active on the English Wikipedia. Please direct any questions about my edits on the different projects to my talk page on the respective project. However, you may write here instead if you wish to alert me to a serious problem.

Great userpage - informative & funny :). Loved the line "I am a user of Wikipedia (obviously since this is my user page)". Josh Atkins (talk - contribs) 18:45, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
