Rathish Ambat is an Indian film director and producer who works in Malayalam cinema.[1] He began his career as an ad filmmaker and assistant director before turning co-producer with Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal (2013).[2][3] Ambat made his feature film directorial debut with Kammara Sambhavam in 2018. Kammara Sambhavam was critically acclaimed. The Times of India called it "one of the best movies of 2018",[4] while The New Indian Express opined that the film was "a commendable effort".[5] The film won the National Film Award for Best Production Design,[6] alongwith the Kerala State film awards for Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design.[4] Ambat is also the managing director of Rathish Ambat Productions, an ad film agency.[7] In September 2019, it was announced that Ambat will direct a film starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.[8]
