IJG Securities is a financial services company located in Windhoek, Namibia. IJG provides a range of investment-related services, including stockbroking, money market, private equity and advisory services.

IJG has assisted in listing 20 out of the last 22 companies and five of the last six Domestic Medium Term Note Programmes (DMTNP) on the Namibian Stock Exchange and has helped raise over N$2.0 billion on the Namibian Stock Exchange through bond and equity issues since 1999.[1] As a result, IJG is currently the sponsor to approximately 50% of all the companies listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange.[2]

IJG was registered in 1996 as Irwin, Jacobs, Greene (Pty) Ltd as a corporate finance and stockbroking firm shortly after the launch of the Namibian Stock Exchange. IJG is the only existing stockbroker in Namibia that is a founder member of the Namibian Stock Exchange. [1] It has a 30% BEE shareholding and is a signatory to the industry’s Financial Services Charter of 2009.[3]

  • Stockbroking: IJG is a founding member of the Namibian Stock Exchange. It offers stockbroking services including online trading, CFD trading, equity trading, and private portfolio management.
  • Private Equity: Omaanda Capital manages the joint private equity activities of IJG and Omaanda Capital (Pty) Ltd. Omaanda Capital focuses on investments in unlisted Namibian companies which are at various stages of their growth cycle and require not only a capital injection but also an inflow of financial management, market or other expertise. It is responsible for the identification of investment opportunities, the actual due diligence and investment process, and for identifying and completing the appropriate exit mechanisms for portfolio investments.   • Money Market: The IJG Money Market team provides financial management services. IJG Money Market service offerings include Money Market Unit Trusts with Namibian and South African Financial Institutions, Nampost call and term deposits, Treasury Bills and Government Bonds and offshore investments.
  • Advisory: IJG has assisted in listing 20 out of the last 22 companies on the Namibian Stock Exchange and has helped raise over N$2.0 billion on the Namibian Stock Exchange through bond and equity issues. IJG Advisory is active in the following areas of investment banking: capital raising, corporate finance, privatisation, debt issuance, and debt restructuring.
  • IJG Direct: IJG Direct is Namibia’s first fully automated online trading portal.
  • Research: The IJG Research team provides research spanning economics, bonds and equities and provides research on investment opportunities in Namibia. The research it provides includes regular reports on yield curves, asset performance, and company and industry analyses.

For IJG’s stockbroking services, in 2009, it was rated the no. 1 stockbroker in Namibia in the Old Mutual / Namibian Stock Exchange Executive Opinion survey. [5]

In 2006, IJG was rated 1st from both an analyst and firm perspective in the category "Other Africa Markets and Economies" in the Financial Mail broker ratings in South Africa. During 2010 IJG was rated second from a firm perspective in the same category in the Financial Mail awards. [6]
